Where did Web3 come from?

You may have heard of Web 3 before. It builds upon Web 1.0 and 2.0, so some of the fundamental technologies have been around for years

Web 1.0 refers to the beginning of the internet and its early development. This iteration of the web consisted mostly of static pages and was the early days of email and online news. Interaction with websites was extremely limited, and digital content creation was just at the beginning.

Web 2.0 is the web as we know it today, significantly expanded and with its capabilities ever-increasing. Web 1.0 was been replaced by super interactive websites and social connectivity. It was a monumental change in how the web was viewed and used, largely a result of innovation in technology. Connected mobile devices and social media drove a total daily adoption of the internet. Whether it be on social media platforms, online ticketing, video chat, online banking, or online gaming, - everything can now be accessed and engaged with from your laptop or mobile, and without a wired connection.
